Children dressed up in fancy dress attending the Garnethill Synagogue Cheder c 1930.
Cheder is an Jewish elementary religious education class which is usually held outside normal school hours. These children are all wearing fancy dress and are probably celebrating Purim, a festival which honours the biblical Queen Esther who saved the lives of the Persian Jews.
