G & P Barrie was a Dundee-based firm that manufactured aerated water. This photograph from the early 1900s shows their factory in Maxwell Road, Pollokshields, with staff and delivery carts outside. The carts are piled high with wooden boxes containing bottles ready for delivery to local shops. The signage on the door on the right of the photograph suggests that, like many other bottlers of soft drinks, Barries also bottled beer.
