Employees of Chisholm & Co erecting scaffolding in the Winter Gardens next to the south wall of the People's Palace, 1920s. Chisholm & Co were painting contractors with offices in Bath Street and Eastwood Toll. The Winter Gardens were built on to the rear of the People's Palace in the 1890s, with a roof of steel and glass supported on iron columns.
