Jubilee of trams, 1922

The Jubilee of trams procession in Steven Street, St George's Cross, 1922.

This procession was held to celebrate fifty years of trams in Glasgow. Tram cars from different periods in the city's history travelled through the streets in procession, with the first horse-drawn cars at the front. In the bottom right corner of the photograph is the deputy general manager of Glasgow Corporation Tramways, Lachlan MacKinnon, wearing a white hat. He became General Manager, 1927-1936.
