A "flyer" advertising Northern & Scottish Airways' services.

Northern & Scottish Airways was founded in November 1934 by George Nicholson. Nicholson had originally been a bus operator in Newcastle. This was not as unusual as it might sound - for example, the Scottish Motor Traction Co (SMT) also set up an aviation department in the early 1930s although it did not last long.

Renfrew was described as the "Airport for Glasgow". Travellers were picked up at the city's Central Hotel and transported by road to the airport. Northern & Scottish Airways ran flights to many of the Western Isles. This leaflet advertises flights to Skye, North Uist and South Uist.
