Staff at a Glasgow Corporation Tramways dance in Glasgow City Chambers, 1922.
The Tramways Department organised a wide variety of social events, including sports and presentations to staff for long service. The first tram service had been introduced in the city by the Glasgow Tramway & Omnibus Co in 1872 (the Corporation took responsibility for their running in 1894), and in 1922 the department organised this dance to celebrate fifty years of Glasgow's tramways.
