Glasgow Corporation Tramways uniform store, 1917.
This uniform store was in Midland Street. When the tramways were run by commercial companies, staff uniforms were often shoddy and did not fit well. The new Glasgow Corporation Tramways set out to be very different. Staff were issued with dark green uniforms and were expected to be smart and tidy at all times.
