Dallas's Catalogue, 1915

The third introductory page of Dallas's mail order catalogue, 1915.

This page contains an apology to Dallas's customers for inconveniences caused by the First World War, and warned of shortages and price increases in the future. Many members of staff had left the firm to serve in the British armed forces, and the Government had commandeered the factories belonging to many of Dallas's suppliers, turning them to the production of uniforms and other equipment for soldiers and sailors. Dallas's informed their customers that rising costs and at home were certain to lead to increased prices for their goods in the future, and advised them to buy now at prices which had been held at pre-war levels.
