Interior of Naval Architecture Hydrodynamics Facility, University of Glasgow, 1978.
The facility was built at the West of Scotland Science Park near Maryhill and houses a large towing/sea-keeping tank measuring 76 metres x 4.6 metres x 2.4 metres, and a well-equipped model-making shop. It also provides office facilities for postgraduate researchers.
The tank is equipped with a wave-maker, a towing carriage, and a wind generator, as well as advanced instrumentation to carry out sea-keeping experiments with various types of ship and offshore structure models in regular and irregular waves.
