Advertisement for Darling & James, costumiers and furriers of Sauchiehall Street, in Glasgow University Magazine 4 March 1914. It was designed to attract women who wished to appear stylish and elegant, whatever the occasion. The advertisement is a good example of the way in which Glasgow businesses took notice of the increasing number of women students before the First World War and recognised their potential spending power.
