Forsyth's was a popular Glasgow outfitter, and regularly placed large attractive advertisements in GUM in the early part of the 20th century. They were specifically aimed at students, with the emphasis on stylish but formal clothing such as the "Gandabak" overcoat. The firm also sold academic gowns and robes.
