Coloured cartoon from the Northern Looking Glass 28 November 1825, the second of seven illustrations under the heading "Evening Fashions and New Quadrilles."
The illustrator William Heath included instructions from the dancing teacher, Monsieur Boulogne, for each dance. For this quadrille, L'eté, he wrote "First gentleman and opposite lady advance and retire; chassey to the right and left, traversey, chassey...".
