A Thomas Annan photograph of a portrait of John Moore (1730-1802). The painting was by Sir Thomas Lawrence and a copy, by James Barr, is in the possession of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and is included on this website.
Moore was a surgeon, travel writer and novelist who was the father of Sir John Moore (1761-1809), the "Hero of Corunna".
