"O Mither! Ony Body", a song preserved in a scrapbook entitled Old Glasgow Street Songs etc, 1850 which is held at the Mitchell Library.
The song is about a girl who was too proud to take a lowly weaver as a husband, but is forced to change her mind when she is unable to attract other suitors. "Sma' fish are better far than nane" is the practical but downbeat moral of the story!
