In the years immediately after the First World War, Glasgow Corporation's Housing Department embarked on a large-scale building programme to alleviate housing shortages. The plans shown here were for tenements were to be built in 1924 as part of this project, which focused initially on Knightswood, Carntyne and Scotstoun. These areas were not absorbed by Glasgow until 1926.
