Part of an advertisement from the Post Office Glasgow directory of 1859-1860 for William Johnston's Glasgow Tube and Metal Warehouse in Mitchell Street. This page displays various toilet bowls and traps, just after the opening of the Loch Katrine water works and pipeline when middle class homes were being connected to the municipal water mains and there was a surge in the installation of domestic water closets.
