William Simpson's depiction of Queen Victoria's carriage making its way up Castle Street towards Glasgow Cathedral during the monarch's visit to Glasgow in 1849. The Queen's carriage is to the right of the engraving, and a figure (presumably Prince Albert) is doffing his hat to the crowds. There are grandstands erected in front of the Barony Church.
