Rudichenko Ensemble

The Rudichenko Ensemble, a leading group of folk singers from Glasgow's twin city of Rostov-on-Don in Russia, appeared at the Henry Wood Hall as part of the city's Mayfest in 1987. This photograph appeared in the April 1987 issue of Glasgow City Council's newspaper The Bulletin.

Glasgow's twinning programme is aimed at fostering links with foreign cities. Twin cities include Turin, Nuremberg, Dalian, Rostov and Havana. Ties are maintained through participation in various activities, including projects funded with European Union assistance; trade missions and exchange visits involving a range of local authority experts, local Chambers of Commerce, schools, cultural groups and other statutory and voluntary agencies.
