Kelvin Hall

The Kelvin Hall was rebuilt as an exhibition hall in 1927, two years after the original building was destroyed by fire. It is perhaps most fondly remembered for Glasgow Corporation's annual Christmas circus and carnival.

The programme for the 1933-1934 season includes advertisements for attractions such as dodgem cars and the ghost ride and descriptions of the various creatures to be seen at the zoo. The section on Gus Bostock's International Circus lists such thrilling attractions as M and G Gilbert's wonderful trained pigeons and Miss Louise and her all-British dog act.
