Peter Stewart Macliver was the proprietor of the Bristol Daily Press.
Born in Glasgow, Macliver was the cousin of Colin Macliver, who became Sir Colin Campbell, Lord Clyde. Macliver was a frequent visitor to Glasgow and stood for a Glasgow seat at the General Election of 1874.
