Mr Sleigh was briefly the lessee of the Prince of Wales Theatre on the corner of Stewart and Cowcaddens Streets.
The son of an army captain, Sleigh was educated in France. After serving in the Army he joined a theatrical company in London, toured in Canada and the USA, and then came to Glasgow in August 1875 to replace W Sydney as manager of the Prince of Wales. The standard fare of melodrama and pantomimes proved very popular with theatre goers, according to The Bailie, although Sleigh's tenure at the theatre seems to have been brief.
Sleigh's wife was an actress better known by her stage name, Miss Foote.
