Andrew Boa

Andrew Boa was a stonemason and trades union activist.

Boa campaigned for workers' rights across the United Kingdom. He returned to Glasgow in 1867 to live in the Burgh of Kinning Park and was elected a Police Commissioner there. In 1875 he announced that he was going to emigrate to Sydney in New South Wales, a decision which the Conservative-leaning The Bailie announced without sadness.
