Robert Hedderwick was a printer.
Born in Edinburgh the son of a printer, Hedderwick emigrated with his family to Glasgow and then to the USA, before he returned to Glasgow to establish with James Hedderwick & Son with his father in 1823. The firm was based in the Trongate, but moved to Argyle Street and in 1840 to St Enoch Square.
Robert and his brother were the proprietors of The Saltwater Gazette.
