Joseph Fitzroy was an actor.
Fitzroy was born in London and toured extensively in England, establishing a reputation as a Shakespearean actor. He first came to Glasgow in 1852 to appear at the Prince’s Theatre in West Nile Street where Sam Bough worked as a scene painter, and by the 1870s had become a great favourite with Glasgow’s theatre-goers.
