Professor Duncan Macmillan MA, PhD, FRSA, HRSA, is an art historian, art critic and gallery director, Professor Emeritus of the History of Scottish Art and Curator of the Talbot Rice Gallery, the University of Edinburgh. His book <i>Scottish Art 1460-1990</i> was Scottish Book of the Year, 1990. It was reissued as <i>Scottish Art 1460-2000</i> in 2000. He is author of numerous other books and articles and is art critic for <i>The Scotsman</i>.
