Teppanyaki Bar at the Arthouse

Sushi at the Teppanyaki Bar in the ArtHouse hotel on Bath Street.

The ArtHouse opened in 1999 in a the former education board headquarters designed by Henry E Clifford and built in 1911. The building's interior was redesigned as a modern boutique hotel but retains touches of Edwardian grandeur, including the original elevator. There are works of art in every bedroom and a gallery on the third floor where students from the nearby Glasgow School of Art exhibit their work.

The sushi bar at ArtHouse is one of several Japanese-style eateries which opened in Glasgow during the late 1990s and early 2000s and which contribute to the cosmopolitan feel of the modern city.
