Jim Dingwall winning the 1980 Glasgow Marathon on 14 September that year. He had represented Scotland in the Commonwealth Games in Canada in 1978 and ran for Falkirk Victoria.
The marathon began in George Square and completed a circuit via Argyle Street, the Kelvin Hall, Byres Road and Sauchiehall Street. Dingwall completed this course in 2 hours 16 minutes and 7 seconds.
