Alastair Durie was formerly a senior lecturer in History at the University of Glasgow, but now combining writing, teaching and research, along with the pursuit of leisure. Has recently published Scotland for the Holidays, history of tourism in Scotland from 1780 -1939 and has another coming soon on the Scottish Hydros ('Water is Best').
